5 Delicious Prawn Recipes From Rannaghar to Spice Up Your Week

Try making these scrumptious prawn dishes in your kitchen this week as we spend more time with family!

1. Loti Chingri

To prepare Loti Chingri, steam some colocasia (kochu) stalks in mustard oil in a frying pan and add turmeric, chilli powder, ginger paste, fried prawns, salt and sugar to taste, split green chillies and adequate water and cover with a lid. Let simmer for a few minutes, then add fried chopped coconut and coriander leaves. Stir well and serve on a plate.

2. Golden Prawns

To make these, first mix cornflour with some water. Mix large-sized prawns with turmeric, chilli powder and salt and coat with cornflour batter. Then fry in refined oil and keep aside. In the same oil, add sliced onions, onion paste, chopped ginger, salt, a few drops of water and spring onions and stir. Add coconut milk, red and green chillies, fried prawns and your dish is ready!

3. Rasun Chingrir Toast

For this garlic prawn toast, heat refined oil and butter in a pan, add garlic paste and boiled mashed potato and stir well. Add pasted prawns, salt, sugar, pepper, tomato sauce and fried garlic and mash well. Toast pav bread with butter, put the garlic prawn mixture on them and sprinkle with pepper. Garnish with tomatoes and lettuce.

4. Chingri Maacher Bahari

Mix cornflour, garlic paste, salt and pepper, tamarind paste and vinegar with some prawns and fry in mustard oil. Keep the prawns aside. In the same oil, add sliced onions, pepper, ginger paste, chilli, tamarind paste and water and cook till reduced.  Add the prawns and fry till ready.

5. Chingri Maacher Papad

In a mixing bowl, add pasted prawns, sago seed powder, chicken stick cube powder, salt, chilli powder and knead till all the ingredients have been mixed well. Roll and wrap in cling film and seal properly by tying up the ends. Steam in a pot full of hot water for a few minutes with a lid on top. Take out and let cool in the fridge. Unwrap and slice into rounds and fry in oil. These prawn wafers are ready to enjoy!
