1. Eggs and toast
When you find yourself at home for a long period of time such as now thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, it can often feel cumbersome to come up with new ideas of what to feed yourself. However, whether you are working from home or taking a break, food remains a necessity to stay fit and nourished, not to mention, to keep your immunity strong. We bring you five easy, filling and highly nutritious options that you can whip up easily on any day you choose. Check them out below!
Actor Gourab Chatterjee, who plays Mathur Babu in the Bengali TV serial Rani Rashmoni is a fitness fanatic who also eats appropriately to stay in shape. He likes rustling up a protein-rich omelette with eggs and eating it with slices of toasted bread. You can make your eggs in any style you like. Scrambled or fried, throw in some chopped vegetables and eat them hot with whole-grain toast.
2. Fruits and yoghurt
Actor Promita Chakrabartty who stars in Saat Bhai Champa, loves eating a plate of fruits with some plain yoghurt, as does Dhrubo Sarkar of Netaji. Choose your favourite fruits like bananas, grapes, apples or berries, and dice them into pieces. Add them to a bowl of sugar-free yoghurt, sprinkle with chopped nuts or coconut, and enjoy! Eat this with a steaming cup of green tea on the side for extra benefits.
3. Fresh smoothies
If you have a blender at home, nothing could be easier for a meal than a smoothie, just like Ek Akasher Niche actor Monami Ghosh. Simply put in some of your preferred fruits, a liquid base like yoghurt, milk, juice or coconut water, a few cubes of ice and blend! Here’s a tip — frozen fruit tends to work better in these, so make sure to store some in your freezer if you want to make smoothies regular. Add in a handful of nuts or seeds like flax or chia for a protein boost.
4. Idli Dosa
If you love idli and dosa as much as ZEE5 Original Bhalobashar Shohor – Arshinagar actor Chandan Roy Sanyal, you can make them at home just like him! All you need is a basic rice and lentil batter which can be stored in the fridge for a few days, and take out to fry or steam in batches before breakfast. This is a delicious way to get some variety for your palate in the mornings! Eat with a piping hot sambar with lots of veggies in it. Yum!
5. English breakfast
If you are one of those who favour hearty breakfasts in the morning to fuel up for a long day ahead, go ahead and make yourself a full English like Parineeta director Raj Chakraborty. Include sausages, tomatoes, eggs, and baked beans all mopped up with bread, and you will be ready to take on the world after it! Delicious and rich in protein, fat, and carbs, this one will leave you satisfactorily satiated.
