That is when there came a saviour who managed to unite everyone and was a key resource in the revival of Hinduism in the state. That mystic saviour was Ramakrishna Paramhansa, who was born as Gadadhar Chattopadhyay in the village of Kamarpukur in Hoohly district. A mystic yogi and a true saint, he made a mark in history. 2. Worshipped his wife

3. His guru

He was mentored in the Advaita Vedanta by the revered monk Totapuri. After being taught by the guru, he remained in a state of meditation for six months.

The saint made sure to explore all religions. His teachings were not only from Hinduism but were drawn from Islam and Christianity as well. His teachings were what attracted his future disciples such as Swami Vivekananda, Girish Ghosh, etc.

5. A priest at Dakshineshwar temple

Ramkrishna Paramhansa was the priest of Dakshineshwar Kali Temple. Inspired by his teachings, every notable figure in history has visited the temple to meet him. The saint was one of the biggest revolutionaries of Bengal society. He laid the path for his disciples, the most notable of whom is Swami Vivekananda, who continued to impart all the knowledge they learnt from him to the future generation.
