Set in Lucknow of the yesteryears and Kolkata, ZEE5 Original film Daawat-E-Biryani is a sweet romantic comedy which will make your hearts melt. A ‘food film’, this latest Bengali movie is about the love story of Aafreen (played by Suhasini Mulay) – who is known to be an excellent cook – and Ranojoy (played by Chiranjeet), her brother Mansoor’s (played by Jayant Kripalani) best friend. Ranojoy falls in love with Aafreen and gifts her a diary which has a recipe of biryani by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah’s cook. But as Aafreen’s family finds out about their relationship, they are forced to elope. In the hullabaloo, Aafreen leaves the precious diary behind.
