Kolkata is not just a city, it’s an emotion. And when we think of Kolkata, what comes to our minds? The iconic Howrah Bridge and Victoria Memorial. There is no Kolkatan who hasn’t passed across Victoria Memorial or been inside. And when it comes to the monument, the first thing that strikes us is the pori – or the fairy on top of it which used to revolve back in the day, or so we are told. With the grounds now a lover’s paradise along with the adjoining maidan area, the pori is a symbol of dreams and of love. What happens when you meet the pori? That is what the ZEE5 Original Bhalobashar Shohor – Pori, is all about.
Aditya (played by Gaurav Chakrabarty) and Torsha (played by Riddhima Ghosh) are colleagues in an ad agency. However, they have never met at work. Aditya is a brilliant artist, an introvert who is mostly lost in his own world and often visits Victoria Memorial to sketch the fairy. Torsha is interning and desperately wants a confirmation to avoid getting married off and sent to Dubai. Their bosses, Ranjan and Arghya take all the credit for their work.
But that’s not enough. They trick Torsha into pranking Aditya, and making him believe that she is the fairy of Victoria Memorial. Torsha complies but falls in love with Aditya in the process. As part of the prank, she gives Aditya three impossible tasks, all of which he is able to complete. But will Torsha break his heart now? You will have to watch the ZEE5 Original Bhalobashar Shohor – Pori to find out.
With beautiful background music (Main Agar Kahoon from the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Om Shanti Om plays in the background when Aditya completes the tasks), romantic cinematography, good acting (Gaurav plays an impossibly romantic person) and a relatable story, it will transport you into a dreamy, magical world and make you fall in love with the city once again.
