The amount of energy spent in skipping for about 10 minutes is the same amount spent on running a mile in eight minutes. It expends quite a lot of energy and burns calories at a faster rate. One hour of rope skipping will help you burn up to 1,600 calories (phew, that’s quite a lot!).
